Because of nanoedmo, I've been reminded of my nanowrimo experience and that I should do something with all that work. I started this weekend. With great dread I opened the file containing my novel and began reading. It wasn't as bad as I thought.. sure I babbled on and on in parts and there are characters that aren't fully flushed out and sort of just drop out of the story with no resolution, and then there is the fact that I just stopped at 50,000 words even though the story wasn't really complete. But all in all I think it's a good start. I've made an outline of how it currently flows and I'm going to work on an outline of how it work better and go from there. Phew... it's overwhelming just thinking about. I guess I'll take it sentence by sentence.-----

See, I told you it wasn't as bad as you thought! I am not officially doing nanoedmo...well I suppose it isn't too late to sign up, seeing as I was already editing it.
It makes me wish I'd written 80,000 instead of 50,000 because then I wouldn't feel bad about the stuff I'm cutting.

Wow, I am totally impressed that you got the 50,000 words. My suggestion (you can of course, ignore this) is to rework it in sections. Maybe not even start at page one. But think of a section that you really liked and start there, reshaping it, clarifying, etc. See if once you are feeling good about the scene if that sparks an idea about something earlier or later to change, if it sparks several things be sure to make notes so you don't forget (if you are at all like me I lose great ideas if I don't write them down.) And maybe in reworking in this fashion an ending will come to you.
I admire the effort and work in just getting to 50,000 words. That's so great. I'm going to attempt to start a novel this summer, and I know there's no way I'd get that far in 30 days. Good luck!
