It's E. While your beloved Amy is busy making her big move from rentville to ownerville, I have temporarily taken over the reins at Living Reflections as a guest host!
While Amy completes her move, I am preparing for my own. Yes, I am one of those twenty-somethings you've heard about that are..... moving back home with their parents. I know it is the best move for me financially. With my shopping habit, if I continued renting, I'd be ready to buy something in the year 2026. Actually, even that is a joke. I'd never be ready to buy my own house. Now, by just saving rent and utilities, I'll have a 20% down payment on a condo in less than two years. Now that I am faced with the reality of moving back home I am trying to focus on the positive: laundry services complete with folding and ironing, a personal grocery shopper and chef, a maid, shuttles to the T and that is just the tip of the iceberg. And, it is all free. I asked my father if I could pay him something and he said "Ah, ya, you buy the booze. Just kidding. I don't want your money." My parents have been trying to lure me home since I left so I have the added benefit of actually making them happy in the process. Could this be true? It seems like a dream. Why would I have ever left? I'll have to check back in on November 3rd with that update. I am moving back on November 1st, so something tells me that it will only take about 3 days for the "honeymoon" to be over. Wish me luck!-----

E - My mother has been trying to get me back home for years. The thought of saving that much money is food for thought however, I wouldn't have all of those added luxorious services. I would just not be paying rent. Good Luck.

good luck moving home! I recently did the same thing after an unfortunate job loss.. it really wasn't that bad (not that I had any options). But it really will be the quickest way for you to save money and get on with the homebuying. Just keep thinking about the future!
