2004 Presidential Candidate Selector

Here is who I match up with according to the 2004 Presidential Candidate Selector.

I'd like to point out that there were no Iraq specific questions in this survey.

1. Your ideal theoretical candidate. (100%)
2. Kucinich, Rep. Dennis, OH - Democrat (83%)
3. Dean, Gov. Howard, VT - Democrat (79%)
4. Edwards, Senator John, NC - Democrat (75%)
5. Gephardt, Rep. Dick, MO - Democrat (71%)
6. Kerry, Senator John, MA - Democrat (71%)
7. Clark, Retired General Wesley K., AR - Democrat (70%)
8. Sharpton, Reverend Al - Democrat (61%)
9. Lieberman, Senator Joe, CT - Democrat (50%)
10. Moseley-Braun, Former Senator Carol, IL - Democrat (32%)
11. LaRouche, Lyndon H. Jr. - Democrat (23%)
12. Bush, President George W. - Republican (14%)

I can't say I find these results surprising. Although, I am very amused that LaRouche (who I consider a complete nut and I thought was a Libertarian) came in higher than Bush.

Link found over at CJ's, who unsurprisingly has almost the opposite results (but is only 30% points away from voting for Kerry... ). That's awefully close, CJ! :)-----

Here is the thing about Kucinich: he makes sense on a number of issues (to me he is really the only candidate from the democratic wing of the democratic party. I think people will find that Dean isn't as liberal as they think. Compared to Bush, sure, but compared to Democrats, no), but then there are a few issues where he is out there. When he starts yelling and screaming as he is prone to do, he just looks nuts. And his hair is frankly inexplicable. All of this makes him unelectable at the national level.

I think this quiz, while entertaining, doesn't represent the full spectrum of issues which is why people see some skewed results.

One comes away with the feeling that Kunich is a popular pick, but as I have discussed with four bloggers who took the quiz, none of us would ever vote for Kunich.

Could it be a biased quiz?

Yes, I was shocked to see Kerry so high and Lieberman so low.

And although there was no specific Iraq question, it did ask about unilateral action and did say, "for example Iraq" and it did ask about pre-emptive attacks.

So you voting for crazy Denny? ;-)

Everything has changed. Nothing has changed. I don't want to go through this again. I can't live without it. I'm sure I can handle it. I couldn't imagine it any other way.
And if none of this makes sense... well, you obviously aren't a Red Sox fan.
