ummm... duh!
J-Mo scooped me on this... I heard about it a couple of days ago, but I've been waiting for it to be on their website.
I think Syracuse got the shaft at 83. Sure, all they have is Syracuse University and the AAA Syracuse SkyCheifs, but when it comes to fan fervor they are definetely in the top 10 - in fact they almost rise to Red Sox Nation ridiculous.
These Boston sports quotes are pretty damn good.-----

from what i've seen and read, boston IS a great sports town, with great fans and totally deserving of the honor! i wish houston had fans like the boston fanatics, but we've always been a 'fair weather' town of sports fans (yours truly, not included in that description, of course!).
you think i'd fit in up there? will you adopt me?

It's entirely possible that the Syracuse Crunch still exist. I don't know because (here comes a sports admission) I don't watch hockey. If the Syracuse Crunch existed when I was at SU, I was completely unaware of them. The only time I've ever watched watched hockey was 1980 Olympics. I was a kid and I was such a nervous wreck during that Russian game. I thought I was going to hyperventilate. Even though they won, I've never been able to take hockey.. it's too stressful. I think I have post tramatic sports disorder.. and yet I watch the Red Sox after game 7 last year. Maybe I have grown up..

Aw... is the Syracuse Crunch minor league hockey team gone? They were fun... and Riddick Bowe was a part owner.
